HAPPY WORKERS’ DAY
So its workers’ day and I want to celebrate you
You wake up in the morning and you dress up
Whether you feel like it or not
You adhere to policies, norms and “our culture”
Whether it suits your taste or not
Sometimes you work on Saturdays and Sundays
Whether you have other demands or not
It is because you are a worker
Sometimes your salary is delayed
But you still keep on coming
Sometimes your pay goes right back into the job
But you keep on coming
Sometimes you are ‘shredded’ in the office for
something you didn’t do when the work got so cumbersome
But you keep on coming
It is because you are a worker
If you are a banker, lawyer, doctor, driver or
engineer
No matter what you do
If you are a teacher, farmer, nurse, soldier or
architect
No matter what you do
If you are a mechanic, tailor, trader, housewife or
pastor
No matter what you do
You are a worker and I celebrate you.
It’s your day…..today
