PREAMBLE
I feel like my fingers are beginning to rust or the zeal to put inspiration to paper is slowly dwindling. My last official article on this blog was in February. The other 2 that came afterwards were birthed out of necessity. But since circumstance has now forced me to live in a room cum Mini - Library, the tendency to spend more time with my parchments and laptop has increased. Some of what is in my head/spirit can now finally walk their way to my blog through the pen, paper and the laptop.

A layman would describe a CV as a written overview of a person’s experience and other qualifications. It is the first item a potential employer encounters regarding a job seeker. Do you remember how much pressure you put on yourself when you had to customize your own CV, or the shiver that went down your spine the first time you sat before an interview panel and each interviewer had a copy of your CV? Now imagine that you landed your dream job but you did not attend any interview at all. Somebody just told somebody who told somebody certain qualities/experience that you possessed and that was all.
This describes what happened to David. I was reading 1Samuel 16 and I ran into what looked like his CV in verse 18; not the one he customized for himself but the one somebody wrote about him.
1 Sam 16:18
Then one of the young men said, "Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is a skillful musician, a mighty man of valor, a warrior, one prudent in speech, and a handsome man; and the Lord is with him." NASU

His Demeanor (good presence)
Attentive, polite, affectionate, patient, deep, sincere, pleasant, delightful, orderly, well-intentioned, sensitive, warm, thoughtful, sweet, loveable, responsible, natural, positive, helpful.
Pretty difficult uhn?! yes I would agree with you because I cannot match up to half-a-quarter of that list.
May I draw your attention closer to the last part of our text (1 SAM 16:18)? i will quote it in 2 versions
Besides, Adonai is with him (CJB)
"What's more," he added, "the Lord is with him." TLB
Permit me to say that this is the most outstanding part of everything that described David.
Surely, other fellows around town had most of all the qualities that you have seen above but the guy who brought the recommendation to Saul must have said to himself "I must not forget to mention this very crucial aspect I have noticed in David's life". God is with him.
Therefore we conclude that it is how God's presence is revealed in a man's life that matters. Every other thing may be applauded by men but the God-factor makes all the difference.
Luke 16:15
For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. KJV
2 Cor 10:18
Ladies, I know that a man who is not after God's own heart should not be after yours but how do you know if God is with a man? I can't say.....lol. You will have to define that for yourself. You have to allow the Holy Spirit's guidance to work through your mind so that you would be able to see and know all that God wants to reveal to you.
Is this a call on the guys to mediocrity? No! it is a call to live out excellence underlined with the God-factor; to be a MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART.
His Character (brave, courageous, prudent)
His Appearance (good looking, handsome)
His Demeanor (good presence)
